Together with the Liberal Democrat parliamentary candidate for Hereford and South Herefordshire, Sarah Carr, MP Paul Keetch welcomed the Rt Hon Charles Kennedy MP, former leader of the Liberal Democrat party to the city of Hereford on Friday 27th March.
Together they took the opportunity to discuss innovative ideas on how empty shop fronts in the city centre can be utilised during the current economic downturn whilst simultaneously creating an inviting aspect for visitors to the shopping district. Commenting Paul Keetch MP said, "An exciting proposal by Art360-Hereford, a group of final year Herefordshire art students, suggests making use of the shop fronts for artwork displays. What an excellent way of showcasing Herefordshire talent, a proposal that I welcome wholeheartedly. Charles Kennedy, a long-time supporter and friend of mine, was equally enthralled with Art360's idea."
The trio, together with local Party supporters keen to meet the ex-leader, also enjoyed a stop for ice-cream at Shepherd's ice-cream parlour, "I'm always keen to support local businesses!" Paul Keetch added.
